“... the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found
a pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it." Matthew 13:45-46

God bless our beloved teachers of the truth!

Our task as teachers:
“Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."
Deuteronomy 11:18-19 NKJV

A wise proverb:
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

The necessity of sound teaching:
"I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." II Timothy 4:1-6 NKJV

Although this passage was spoken to Timothy regarding evangelism, it can be applied to all teachers of the gospel.

The seriousness of teaching:
“Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways."
James 3:1-2 NIV
